• Two days and one night onboard with a key return scheduled at 4PM next day

Travelling in the Sarthe valley (boat hire in France, Anjou) :

Two days for a cruise deep in the wild meanders of the Sarthe river. After a training of approximately one hour, you are free to sail on your own !

Advised course : the heart of the Sarthe

First of all, enjoy going through your first lock in Solesmes and stop for a meal at the quiet decks of this village (a pic nic or in one of the three renowned restaurants). Like a sheperd dipping its toes in the river, you will have a perfect view of the incredible height and architecture of the Solesmes abbaye (gregorian chants to listen to : office times available by clicking here). Sail on during the afternoon and go through the beautiful villages of Juigné sur Sarthe and Avoise. Finally, we advise to spend the night in the medieval village of Parcé Sur Sarthe. Despite its little size, you will find here shops and restaurants. The second day, make a little loop up the Watermill of Ignières, a patrimony of the writer and film-maker Marcel Pagnol. We will meet you back in the marina : key returned scheduled at 4PM.

An alternative course :

If you already know that part, why not try the other side of the river, toward the low Anjou valleys ? Follow the golf of Pincé settled on the banks of the river : a deck deep in the wild awaits : a perfect spot for a countryside picnic. For your night onboard, head down to Morannes, where you will find shops and restaurants. Or continue until you reach Brissarthe if you wish to be moored in the quietest part of the river …
