The Octo Fly 12 : the new 12 people boat rental. Follow its adventure from designing to launching !
Starting idea : comfort and crew capacity
The demand for big crew capacity is still booming : so now is the time to design a new admiral boat for the fleet ! We decided to plan a design for a kind of self drive boat that could adapt for a crew from 8 to 12 people easily.
- 4 cabins
- 2 single bunk beds
And since a large crew needs a large space : the new Octo Fly 12 will become the biggest of our fleet with its 15 meters of length !
New upper deck design :
First of all, the Fly range is suited for conviviality : bringing all the crew together : pilot included ! Indeed, in addition to a sheltered back terrace ; this new boat is designed to welcome an upstair “Fly” terrace.
Which means : a complete living space right next to the pilot’s station : benches, a table … but also some lounge chairs and a BBQ !
Finally a reinforced instulation for more comfort ! A 12 people boat rental that suits any season !
For those that experienced navigation in extreme weather will know this : a houseboat is not built like a house ! Staight from conception, we decided to take at heart this key point. The Nicols Octo Fly 12 will, indeed, be equipped with a reinforced insulation. Especially in order to keep a fresher atmosphere in summer, but also reduce condensation while using heating at low season !
Sheduled launch : May 2022 !
Production is already on its way and the launch should be on time for spring on our base of Grez Neuville. Anjou Navigation will then take a few days of fine-tuning to allow a rental as soon as the bank holidays of May are coming ! A few pictures of the work advancement :
